Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic approach to health care. An ancient and proven method of treatment, (the first records date back to 168 B.C.) the main principle in TCM is that our bodies are in a state of balance and harmony when healthy. When illness strikes, TCM acts to assist the body to restore its natural healthy balance. In essence TCM acts as a facilitator, to inspire the body to heal itself.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the diagnostic technique is fine-tuned and may be difficult for our western minds to grasp. Each organ is given a “personality” and when signs and symptoms of imbalance appear, the practitioner is able to differentiate which organ is out of harmony.
